Beautiful Blue Bedroom Ideas

Calming and serene this beautiful blue bedroom is a great example of how blue can be used to create a bedroom which has both masculine and feminine qualities. Blue, traditionally associated with boys and men, can also be used in such a way that it becomes sexy and girlie!
The shade of blue is the key, mid-tones or those with a paler hue are easier to work with, however, you can also add femininity buy choosing bedding which has soft textures. Superking duvet covers with embroidery or a satin trim bring a feminine touch, co-ordinated with bed throws in chenille to include a snugly soft touch.
The masculine aspects can be bought into the room by using dark wood – for flooring window blinds and the bed-frame. The hardness of the wood works as a juxtaposition between the two extremes of tactility, resulting in a bedroom which is stylishly simple and yet demands to be noticed.
Another fabulous and easy interior design idea is not to try and fill-up your entire floor space. Opt for the less is more approach, no clutter and enhance features such as windows and flooring to give the room an open and informal look which oozes chic styling. Okay, your bedroom may not be enormous, but if you want to get the look apply the principles and scale things down to fit.

Wonderful White Bedrooms With Style

My love of white bedding is being shared with you just to give you an idea of how white have to bedrooms and bedding doesn't have to look like a hospital or clinic! White sheets, duvet cover sets and bed throws can all be made from different materials and be bought together to create a blissful bedroom which is serene and tranquil.

Bed sheets, in my opinion, have to be white even if you use coloured duvet sets. Call me old fashioned, but the sight of clean, crisp, white bed sheets relaxes me, they put my mind at ease, maybe it's an inbred hygiene thing!

We Brits may not have had a good run of weather over the last few weeks, but summer will arrive and so be prepared to shed bedding and give you and your bedroom the look and feel of summer by using cheap curtains, voile panels are ideal, for making a chic four-poster styled bed.

I love the idea of using a patchwork quilt as a head-board – sometimes these types of quilts are just to gorgeous to throw over your bed! By including a patchwork or patterned head-board also means that you'll be subtly injecting some colour into the room. You can always pick-up on one of the colours in the quilt and compliment it with a rug or window blinds.

Play around with white and you'll soon find out that it really isn't as boring as some people say – it can be the base for wonderful white bedrooms which are chic, stylish and elegant. Furthermore, white suits all styled of homes and can be dressed up or down according to your design style.

Bedroom Talk – A Touch of Chic Femininity

When you're thinking about what colours to use, the best and perhaps the easiest way is to ask the woman or girl to tell you what her favourite colours are. It may be that you actually know what her favourite colours are, but what you might not know the very shades of colour she prefers. After all there is a huge difference between light blue and navy. If the girl in question does not have any favourite colour or any preferences, it is often a good option to go for very soft pastel colours such as duck egg blue bedding, pretty bedroom rugs or cheap bedding sets in pretty yellow or pinks.

Floral are always a good option, especially if you're trying to create a romantic look to the room. Think what a dozen red roses will do to the room. Place them on the dresser and make them a real focal point. If you have ever been to a good hotel, you might know that when you get back to your hotel room in the evening, a member of staff has placed a single flower or rose on your bed, near your pillow. Simple touches like these add a touch of femininity to a room. Also pile the bed with cushions and throws made from floral fabrics to bring the floral theme together effortlessly.

Bedroom Talk – Inviting Joy into Your Home!

It is important to invite joy into your home and extend that to your bedroom, for when it comes to having a warm and cosy atmosphere in your home, there is perhaps nothing more important that attention to detail. This can be more critical than having a budget. You may have, for example, walked into a most sumptuously appointed home and just got the feeling that you were not welcome! Conversely you may have been in a small apartment of one of your friends and thought to yourself this is exquisite, so homely, and done with such taste. Therefore you will realise that it is within the walls of an actual house that you will discover the joys of a home.

Having a juxtaposition of detail by use of accessories and the necessity of certain items in a room creates a wonderful cornucopia of soft furnishings, colours and an eclectic interior design style which is warm and inviting. Clever use of rugs, cheap bedding, cushions and throws, which emulate their surroundings, can offer you a sense of joy which enables you to truly call your house a home, especially in the bedroom.

Bedroom Talk – Is a Woman's Touch Needed?

Is it a wise then to ask the opinion of the woman of the household when it comes to colour schemes? Perhaps by doing this you will be able to bring about a feminine touch to the bedroom you are considering decorating or remodelling. Let us consider for a moment there is possibly no way a man would think of using the colour pink, it is not a colour that will come to a man's mind when he's considering decorating a room. But at the same time a woman would consider decorating a room in pink, this is where more often than not compromises have to be made.

This is not as stereotypical as it sounds and I certainly don't imply that all households have this problem, nor do I forget that some of the most influential interior designers are men! However, when we talk about interior design ideas in the average home it's the woman who takes the lead – please tell if I'm wrong!

One idea is to use a colour combination which merges colours which are considered male and female. For example, hot pink curtains coordinated with a steel grey rug would look stunning and bridge the gap effectively between what men and women want in their home.

Bedroom Talk – Staying Neutral

A simple modernistic type approach is needed when you're decorating if you're not sure what kind of interior design style you're really after; in essence it's about creating a clean and airy atmosphere. You cannot go wrong if you stay with neutral colours; these neutral tones and hues help go towards making up the palette of which style is all about. You will find in most cases walls are done in white, or perhaps very light pastel shades, whilst the furnishings tend to be a kind of neutral tone-on-tone colour scheme.

Choose cream bedroom curtains and perhaps a cream rug and luxury bedding in a similar tone to bring the room together. It stop it looking bland and boring inject pops of colour in accessories, such as a simple bed throw, cushions and display objects. One of the great advantages of staying neutral is that you can bring a complete new look to your bedroom as often as you wish simply by changing your accessory colours!
